# asset-generation

Generate images from text prompts using the Gemini API.
|
|
|
|
## Setup
|
|
|
|
### 1. Get a Gemini API key
|
|
|
|
1. Go to [Google AI Studio](https://aistudio.google.com/apikey)
|
|
2. Create a new API key
|
|
|
|
### 2. Configure the key
|
|
|
|
Add to your `.env.tools` file in the project root:
|
|
|
|

|
GEMINI_API_KEY=your_key_here
|
|
```
|
|
|
|
Make sure `.env.tools` is in your `.gitignore` — never commit API keys.
|
|
|
|
### 3. Verify it works
|
|
|
|
```bash
|
|
node asset-generation/scripts/generate-image.mjs \
|
|
--prompt "a simple blue circle on white background" \
|
|
--output assets/test.png
|
|
```

|
|
|
